     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Clarence E. Sherman (given age 49), the head of household at Cranston, Providence County, Rhode Island, on 16 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Clorinda J. Sherman (given age 50) . Clarence was employed as a Foreman with the Public Utilities.7
     Clarence Elmer Sherman (given age 61) registered for the civilian draft for WW II on 27 April 1942, while residing at 77 Ruth Avenue, Rumford, Providence County, Rhode Island. Clarinda J. Sherman was named as a person who would always know his address. Clarence was employed by the Providence Gas Company.1
