     Her husband, Charles, died before 1920, leaving Inez May as a widow.
     The 1920 US Census enumerated her as Inez McCartney (given age 51), the head of household Guelph Township, Sumner County, Kansas, on 12 January 1920. Also living in the household were, her sons, Barney C. McCartney (given age 15) and Harley B. McCartney (given age 10), her daughter, Mona B. McCartney (given age 7), her father, Jeramiah Love (given age 83) . Inez was a Farmer.8
     The 1925 Kansas State Census enumerated her as Inez McCartney (given age 56), the head of household at 2302 West Second, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, on 1 March 1925.      The 1930 US Census enumerated her as Inez McCartney (given age 62), the head of household Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, on 12 April 1930. Also living in the household were, her son, Harlin McCartney (given age 20), her daughter, Mona McCartney (given age 18) .10 Inez May McCartney was buried in the family plot, located at Blackwell, Kay County, Oklahoma.11
