The 1910 US Census enumerated him as Peter Borntrager (given age 54), the head of household at Bowman Road, St. Clair Township, St. Clair County, Michigan, on 30 April 1910, living alone. Fred McCartney (given age 40) was listed as his neighbor. Peter was self employed as a Farmer.3
The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Peter Bontrager (given age 64), the head of household at 400 South Fourth Street, St. Clair, St. Clair County, Michigan, on 3 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Emma Bontrager (given age 54) .4
The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Peter Borntrager (given age 74), the head of household St. Clair, St. Clair County, Michigan, on 3 April 1930, living alone.5
Peter died in 1940 leaving Emma as a widow.2 Peter Borntrager was buried in the Bowman Cemetery, located at St. Clair Township, St. Clair County, Michigan.2
