Ira Buck was born on Wednesday, 31 August 1796 at Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont.1 He was probably included as a free white male, newborn to ten years old, in the household of Francis Buck (given age 24-44) on the 1800 Census on 4 August 1800 Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont.2
Ira Buck married Anna Smith, daughter of Elisha Smith and Lucy (?). Ira Buck and Samuel Lothrop acquired a total of 240 acres of land on 2 August 1837 located at Lenawee County, Michigan, described as the Southwest Quarter of Section 22 and the East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, all in Township 7 South, Range 1 East.3 Ira Buck and Samuel Lothrop acquired a total of 3,141.31 acres of land on 2 August 1837 located at Hillsdale County, Michigan, described as the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 21, Township 7 South, Range 1 East; the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 32, and the S Half of Section 33, all in Township 7 South, Range 2 West; the NE Quarter of Section 2, and the SE Quarter and the NW Quarter of Section 3, and the NW Quarter and the N Half of the SW Quarter of Section 4, and the E Half of the SW Quarter of Section 5, and the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 7, and the SE Quarter and the E Half of the SW Quarter of Section 8, and the W Half of the NW Quarter of Section 17, and the NE Quarter of Section 18, and the N Half of Section 20, and the NW Quarter of Section 21, all in Township 8 South, Range 2 West; the W Half of the NW Quarter of Section 14, and the E Half of Section 15, and the E Half of the NE Quarter of Section 22, and the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 10, all in Township 8 South, Range 3 West; the SW Quarter of Section 23, and the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 25, Township 9 South, Range 3 West.3 Ira Buck and Samuel Lothrop acquired a total of 952.94 acres of land on 1 May 1839 located at Van Buren County, Michigan, described as the N Half and the W Half of the SW Quarter of Section 3, and the E Half of the SE Quarter of Section 4, all in Township 2 South, Range 15 West; the S Half of Section 5, and the W Half of the NE Quarter of Section 8, all in Township 3 South, Range 14 West.3 Ira Buck and Samuel Lothrop acquired a total of 717.9 acres of land on 1 May 1839 located at Michigan described as the S Half of the NE Quarter of Section 4, Township 2 South, Range 8 West, Calhoun County; the W Half of the SW Quarter of Section 26, and the SE Quarter of Section 27, all in Township 1 South, Range 11 West, Kalamazoo County; the W Half, and the SE Quarter of the NW Quarter of Section 8, Township 2 South, Range 15 West, Van Buren County; the S Half of the NE Quarter and the E Half of the SW Quarter of Section 6, and the NW Quarter of Section 7, all in Township 3 South, Range 14 West, Van Buren County.3 Ira Buck was probably included as a free white male, age thirty to forty years old, in the household of Samuel Lathrop (given age 30-40) on the 1840 Census on 1 June 1840 at Adrian Township, Lenawee County, Michigan.4
The 1845 Michigan Census enumerated him as Ira Buck, the head of household Adrian Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, in 1845. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household:.5
The 1850 US Census enumerated him as Ira Buck (given age 52), the head of household Adrian Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 16 September 1850. Anna Buck (given age 46), George L. Buck (given age 22), Marvin A. Buck (given age 17), Bridget Leonard (given age 25), Erastus Converse (given age 24) and E. Smith (given age 24) were listed as household members. Ira was employed as a Saddler.6
The 1860 US Census enumerated him as Ira Buck (given age 63), the head of household at Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 2 July 1860. Matilda Wise (given age 20) were listed as household members. Ann Buck (given age 55) was listed as a household member. Chester Buck (given age 66) was listed as his neighbor.7
The 1870 US Census enumerated him as Ira Buck (given age 73), the head of household Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 16 June 1870. Anna Buck (given age 66), Emma Henig (given age 17) and Anna Lothrop (given age 64) were listed as household members. Ira was employed as a Retired Merchant.8
His wife, Ann, died on 24 June 1870 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, leaving Ira as a widower.9,10
At the time of the death of his sister, Lucretia in 1872, Ira resided Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan.11

Sophia Buck was born on Monday, 17 December 1798 at Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont.1 She was probably included as a free white female, newborn to ten years old, in the household of Francis Buck (given age 24-44) on the 1800 Census on 4 August 1800 Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont.2 Sophia Buck was probably included as a free white female, age ten to sixteen years old, in the household of Francis Buck (given age 45+) on the 1810 Census on 6 August 1810 at Dorset, Bennington County, Vermont.3
At age 18, Sophia Buck married first Lambert Brigham, age 22, son of Phineas Brigham and Lydia Batherick, on Wednesday, 12 February 1817 at Sterling, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
Her husband, Lambert, died in 1833, leaving Sophia as a widow.
Sophia Buck married second Thomas J. Newton, son of Jacob Newton, say 1832.
The 1850 US Census enumerated her as Sophia Newton (given age 53), the head of household at Northborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 8 August 1850. Sophia Newton (given age 15) was listed as a household member.4
The 1860 US Census enumerated her as Sophia Buck, the head of household living alone Northborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 21 July 1860. Sophia was employed as a Seamstress.5
At age 63, Sophia Newton married third Jonathan Stone on Thursday, 17 July 1862 at Westborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts.6 Sophia Stone (given age 84) was listed as the mother-in-law of Edward Hildreth (given age 49) on the 1880 Census recorded 11 June 1880 at Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. She was listed as living with her Son-in-Law.7
Sophia died on 6 January 1882 Westborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts, at age 83.6
