Edwin was self employed as a farmer.2
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as E. W. Van Sickle (given age 61), the head of household at Jefferson Township, Williams County, Ohio, on 9 April 1930. Also living in the household was, his son, Donald I. Van Sickle (given age 23). E. was self employed as a farmer.3

     His wife, Mary, died on 19 November 1911 at Perry Township, St. Francois County, Missouri, at age 53, leaving Charles Henry as a widower.4
