Marshfield Gaines

     Marshfield Gaines was born on Thursday, 17 March 1785 at Massachusetts.1
     At age 29, Marshfield Gaines married first Lucy Hatch on Thursday, 22 December 1814.1
     Marshfield Gaines married second Angelina Burr, age 42, daughter of David Burr and Deborah Albee, in March 1844 at Dover, Windham County, Vermont. The wedding ceremony was conducted by D. H. Ranney Minister of the Gospel. The ceremony was witnessed by Fayette Perry Town Clerk.2
     The 1850 US Census enumerated him as Marshfield Gaines, the head of household at Newfane, Windham County, Vermont, on 10 September 1850. Angelina Gaines (given age 48), Deborah Burr (given age 73), Edna Louise Marsh (given age 7) and Lewis Tyler (given age 14) were listed as household members.3
     Marshfield died of leg broken in October 1870 Newfane, Windham County, Vermont, at age 85.4

     Mary Alice McClung and Beatty Armstrong relocated at Kansas in 1878. Maryann Armstrong (given age 27) was listed as the wife of Beatty Armstrong (given age 30) on the 1880 Census recorded 8 June 1880 at Kanwaka Township, Douglas County, Kansas.3 Mary Alice Armstrong was listed in the obituary of Beatty Armstrong in February 1922, in the Lawrence Journal, published at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, as a surviving wife.4
     Mary Alice died on 22 April 1928 at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, at age 75.5
     Mary's obituary appeared in April 1928, Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. As listed in the obituary, Mary was survived by, her sons, Harry Clement Armstrong and A. I. Delbert Armstrong, her daughters, Ethelyn Irene Banks and Edith Correnia Armstrong, her brother, James Johnson McClung, her sister, Kate Elizabeth Watts.4 Mary Alice McClung was buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, located at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.5

     The 1920 US Census enumerated him as James J. McClung (given age 60), the head of household Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa, on 9 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Sarah J. McClung (given age 60), his daughters, Mabel J. McClung (given age 36) and Nadine G. McClung (given age 25) . James was employed as a Drayman.10
     The 1925 Iowa State Census enumerated him as James J. McClung (given age 65), the head of household Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa, on 1 January 1925. Also living in the household were his wife, Sarah J. McClung (given age 65), his daughters, Mable McClung (given age 41) and Nain G. McClung (given age 30) .11 James Johnson McClung was listed in the obituary of Mary Alice McClung in April 1928, in the Lawrence Journal, published at Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, as a surviving brother.12
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as James J. McClung (given age 70), the head of household Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa, on 17 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Sarah J. McClung (given age 70), his daughters, Mabel I. McClung (given age 46), his sister-in-law, Agnes E. Burns (given age 64) . James was Draying for the City Dray.13 He was buried in the Garden Grove West Cemetery, located at Garden Grove Township, Decatur County, Iowa.14

     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Frank M. McClung (given age 78), the head of household Kalispell Township, Flathead County, Montana, in April 1930. Also living in the household was his wife, Emma McClung (given age 73). Herman F. McClung (given age 40) was listed as his neighbor.10

     George A. died at Arlington, Lincoln County, Oklahoma.1
