     Jonas Keyes Hager was born in April 1822.1
     At age 20, Jonas Keyes Hager married first Almira C. Rice on Sunday, 5 June 1842 at West Boylston, Worcester County, Massachusetts.2,3
     The 1850 US Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 28), the head of household at Sterling, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 17 September 1850. Elmira C. Hager (given age 28), E. Irvin W. Hager (given age 7), James G. B. Hager (given age 3) and Levit H. Hager (given age 1) were listed as household members. Jonas was employed as a boot maker.4
     The 1860 US Census enumerated him as James H. Hager (given age 37), the head of household at Pecatonica, Winnebago County, Illinois, on 21 June 1860. Almira Hager (given age 37), Irving Hager (given age 17), Biney Hager (given age 13), Levitt Hager (given age 11), Corneleus Hager (given age 8) and Census Hager (given age 1 month) were listed as household members. James was employed as a shoe maker.5
     The 1870 US Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 48), the head of household at Winona, Winona County, Minnesota, on 16 June 1870. Elmira C. Hager (given age 48), Cornelia D. Hager (given age 18), Mira A. Hager (given age 9) and Abraham L. Hager (given age 7) were listed as household members. Jonas was employed as a boot and shoe maker.6
     His wife, an unknown person , died in 1872, leaving Jonas Keyes as a widower.2
     At age 52, Jonas Keyes Hager married second Louisa C. Groff, age 27 on Thursday, 10 September 1874 at Ramsey County, Minnesota.7
     The 1880 US Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 57), the head of household at 2351 East Sixth Street, Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on 5 June 1880. Also living in the household were his wife, Louisa Hager (given age 32), his son, Abram Hager (given age 17), his daughters, Myra Hager (given age 19) and Effie Hager (given age 4) . Jonas was employed as a shoe maker.8
The 1885 Minnesota State Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 63), the head of household at Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on 1 May 1885. Louisa Hager (given age 38), Aggie Hager (given age 9) and Marion Hager (given age 3) were listed as household members.9
The 1895 Minnesota State Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 73), the head of household at Canada Street, Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on 1 June 1895. Mrs. Louisa C. Hager (given age 48), Effie N. Hager (given age 19) and Myron K. Hager (given age 13) were listed as household members. Jonas was employed as a shoe cutter.10
     The 1900 US Census enumerated him as Jonas K. Hager (given age 78), the head of household at 281 Olmsted, Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on 6 June 1900. Also living in the household was his wife, Louisa C. Hager (given age 53), his son, Myron K. Hager (given age 18), his daughter, Effie N. Hager (given age 24) . Jonas was employed as a shoe sole cutter.11 He died on Saturday, 18 August 1900 at Minnesota at age 78 years and 4 months.1 He was buried in the Oakland Cemetery, located at Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.2,12
