     Howland Sherman was born on Thursday, 16 September 1813 at New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1
     At age 29, Howland Sherman married Hulda Titus, age 20, daughter of Curtis Titus and Lucinda Wileman, on Wednesday, 29 March 1843 at Seneca County, Ohio. The wedding ceremony was conducted by S. B. Clark J.P.1,2
     The 1850 US Census enumerated him as Howland Sherman (given age 34), the head of household at Pleasant Township, Seneca County, Ohio, on 15 October 1850. Huldy Sherman (given age 26), Etheridge Sherman (given age 6), Frances Sherman (given age 4) and Fennie Sherman (given age 2) were listed as household members.3
     The 1860 US Census enumerated him as Holland Sherman (given age 44), the head of household Pleasant Township, Seneca County, Ohio, on 22 June 1860. Huldah Sherman (given age 36), Eldridge Sherman (given age 16), Frances Sherman (given age 15), Theronia Sherman (given age 12), Elnora Sherman (given age 7) and Lucinda Sherman (given age 2) were listed as household members.4
     Howland died of cancer on 16 July 1865 at age 51.1 He was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, located at Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. His tombstone inscription reads: Died Jul 16 1865.5

     Hulda Titus was born on Monday, 3 March 1823 at New York.2,1
     At age 20, Hulda Titus married Howland Sherman, age 29, son of Elihu Sherman Jr. and Hannah Russell, on Wednesday, 29 March 1843 at Seneca County, Ohio. The wedding ceremony was conducted by S. B. Clark J.P.2,3 Huldy Sherman (given age 26) was listed as a household member living with Howland Sherman (given age 34) on the 1850 Census on 15 October 1850 at Pleasant Township, Seneca County, Ohio.4 Huldah Sherman (given age 36) was listed as a household member living with Holland Sherman (given age 44) on the 1860 Census on 22 June 1860 Pleasant Township, Seneca County, Ohio.5
     The 1880 US Census enumerated her as Huldah Sherman (given age 55), the head of household at Clinton Township, Seneca County, Ohio, on 22 June 1880. Also living in the household were, her daughter, Lucinda Sherman (given age 22) . Huldah was Keeping House.6 She was listed as the mother of Francis S. Sherman (given age 54) on the 1900 Census recorded 2 June 1900 at Adams Township, Seneca County, Ohio.7
     Hulda died on 22 December 1901 at age 78.2 She was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, located at Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio.1
