     The 1850 US Census enumerated him as Samuel Royce (given age 32), the head of household at Henrietta Township, Lorain County, Ohio, on 25 September 1850. Martha Royce (given age 24) and Caul Royce (given age 2) were listed as household members. Samuel was employed as a Shoe Maker.2
     The 1860 US Census enumerated him as Samuel Royce (given age 42), the head of household Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio, on 20 June 1860. Martha P. Royce (given age 37), Covell C. Royce (given age 12), Adele N. Royce (given age 9) and Emilie J. Royce (given age 5) were listed as household members. Samuel was employed as a Shoemaker.3

Also living in the household were his wife, Elizabeth A. Comings (given age 22), his sons, Charles Lea Comings (given age 3) and Frederick A. Comings (given age 1) . Charles was employed as a Bookeeper for the Oberlin Police.7
     Charles Royce Comings (given age 39) registered for the World War I civilian draft on 12 September 1918, while residing Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio. Mrs. Charles Royce Comings was named as his nearest relative. Charles was employed as a Bookeeper by A.G. Comings and Son of 37 West College Street, Oberlin, Ohio.8
     The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Charles R. Comings (given age 40), the head of household Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio, on 29 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Elizabeth L. Comings (given age 32), his sons, Charles L. Comings (given age 12), Fred A. Comings (given age 11), Jean R. Comings (given age 7) and Gordon Comings (given age 4) . Charles was employed as a Merchant with a Bookstore.9
     Charles Royce Comings applied for a military pension on 30 April 1921 at Ohio.10
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Charles R. Comings (given age 51), the head of household Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio, on 12 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Elizabeth L. Comings (given age 42), his sons, C. Lea Comings (given age 22), Fred A. Comings (given age 21), Eugene R. Comings (given age 17) and Gordon Comings (given age 14) . Charles was employed as a Retail Merchant of Books.11
     Charles Royce Comings (given age 63) registered for the civilian draft for WW II on 26 April 1942, while residing at 81 South Professor Street, Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio. Mrs. Elizabeth Lea Comings was named as a person who would always know his address. Charles was employed by A.G. Comings and Son of 37 West College Street, Oberlin, Ohio; he was also empolyed at City Hall as Mayor.2
     Charles Royce died on 20 July 1945 in the Allen Memorial Hospital, located at Oberlin, Lorain County, Ohio, at age 66 leaving Elizabeth as a widow.12,3
