Julius Oscar Meyer 1871-1932
At age 44, Julius Oscar Meyer married Katherine Marie Denton, age 31, daughter of Joseph Wickes Denton and Sarah Amanda McCartney, on Monday, 12 June 1916 at Ogden, Weber County, Utah.2,6 Julius Oscar Meyer provided information for the death certificate of Harold Denton Meyer on Friday, 22 June 1917 Ogden, Weber County, Utah.1,2
The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Julius O. Meyer (given age 49), the head of household at 2850 Hudson Avenue, Ogden, Weber County, Utah, on 16 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Katherine Meyer (given age 34) , a boarder, Benjamin Libby (given age 29). Julius was employed as a fireman at the fire department.7
The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Julius O. Meyer (given age 56), the head of household at 950 Binford Avenue, Ogden, Weber County, Utah, on 10 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Katherine L. Meyer (given age 40), his son, J. Leroy Meyer (given age 7) . Julius was employed as a Captain at the fire department.8
Julius Oscar died on 28 October 1932 Ogden, Weber County, Utah, at age 60 leaving Katherine Marie as a widow. Julius was employed as a fireman by the Ogden Fire Department.1,2,9 He was buried on Sunday, 30 October 1932 in the Ogden City Cemetery, located at Ogden, Weber County, Utah.1
