     Charles H. Newton married first Harriet Meade.1
     His wife, Harriet, died on 11 April 1886, leaving Charles H. as a widower.1
     At age 61, Charles H. Newton married Adele Estabrook, age 32, daughter of Samuel Estabrook, on Sunday, 4 August 1889.1
     The 1900 US Census enumerated him as Charles H. Newton (given age 72), the head of household at 190 Blossom Street, Fitchburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 5 June 1900. Also living in the household was his wife, Adel E. Newton (given age 43), his son, Phineas S. Newton (given age 4), his daughters, Ruth E. Newton (given age 9) and Dorris S. Newton (given age 6) . Charles was employed as a bookeeper.2
     Charles H. died on 12 March 1905 at Fitchburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts, at age 76.1
