     The 1790 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 16+), the head of household living alone at Dummerston, Windham County, Vermont, on 2 August 1790. Thaddeus Newton (given age 16+) was listed as his neighbor.3
     Charles Newton married Salley Jeston.4
     The 1800 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 26-45), the head of household at Jericho, Chenango County, New York, on 4 August 1800. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household:, Salley Newton, free white females, ages twenty-six to forty-five years of age. Thaddeus Newton (given age 45+) was listed as a neighbor.5
     The 1810 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 26-45), the head of household Jericho, Chenango County, New York, on 6 August 1810. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household:, Salley Newton, a free white female, ages twenty-six to forty-five years of age. Thadeus Newton (given age 45+) was listed as a neighbor.6
     The 1820 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 45+), the head of household at Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York, on 7 August 1820. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household:, Salley Newton, a free white female, over forty-five years of age.7
     The 1830 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 50-60), the head of household Bainbridge, Chenango County, New York, on 1 June 1830. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household: , Salley Newton, free white females age fifty to sixty years old.8
     The 1840 US Census enumerated him as Charles Newton (given age 60-70), the head of household at Oxford, Chenango County, New York, on 1 June 1840. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household: , Salley Newton, a free white female age sixty to seventy years old.9
     Charles died say 1841 Oxford, Chenango County, New York.4
