     Ralph E. Bittenbender (given age 21) registered for the World War I civilian draft on 5 June 1917, while residing at 543 Colbert Avenue, Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania. John B. Bittenbender was named as his nearest relative. He was employed by the Oil Well Supply Company of Oil City, Pa.2
     The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Raplh E. Bittenbender (given age 23), the head of household Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania, on 16 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Ethel M. Bittenbender (given age 22), his son, Donald Bittenbender (given age 4), his daughter, Sarah Bittenbender (given age 3), his brother, Emerson Bittenbender (given age 36) . Raplh was an Electrician for a Supply Shop.6
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Ralph E. Bittenbender (given age 32), the head of household at 209R Hoffman Avenue, Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania, on 12 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Ethel M. Bittenbender (given age 32), his sons, Aba Donald R. Bittenbender (given age 14), Ralph J. Bittenbender (given age 9) and William E. Bittenbender (given age 4 years, 1 month), his daughter, Sara M. Bittenbender (given age 13), his brother, Lee A. Bittenbender (given age 30) . Ralph was an Insurance Salesman.7
     Ralph E. died on 7 April 1966 Oil City, Venango County, Pennsylvania, at age 68.3 He was buried in the Miola Cemetery, located at Highland Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.8
