     Robert Porter McCartney (given age 64) registered for the civilian draft for WW II on 26 April 1942, while residing at 100 Carter Avenue, Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. Mrs. May McCartney was named as a person who would always know his address. He was employed by the B & O Railroad of Baltimore, Maryland.¹ Robert Porter McCartney was retired in 1945. He had worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. He was listed in the obituary of James Clair McCartney on 12 May 1948, in the Butler Eagle, published at Butler County, Pennsylvania, as a surviving father.³
     Robert Porter died on 25 October 1964 Hillcrest Nursing Home, located in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania, at age 86.
