Ellis (given age 44) on the 1870 Census on 31 August 1870 at Lansing Township, Ingham County, Michigan.³

     The 1880 US Census enumerated him as Clarance Ellis (given age 28), the head of household at Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan, on 2 June 1880. Also living in the household were his wife, Mary A. Ellis (given age 26), his daughter, Clara G. Ellis (given age 2) . Clarance was employed as a minister.⁴
     At age 44, Rev. Clarence L. Ellis married second Hattie Kidney, daughter of Joseph Lee and Sally Beebe, on Wednesday, 18 November 1896 at Marcellus, Cass County, Michigan.¹
     The 1900 US Census enumerated him as Clarence L. Ellis (given age 48), the head of household at Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, Michigan, on 2 June 1900. Also living in the household was his wife, Hattie Ellis (given age 36), his daughters, Elma Ellis (given age 9) and Zoa Ellis (given age 7) . Clarence was employed as a clergyman.⁵
     The 1910 US Census enumerated him as Clarence L. Ellis (given age 58), the head of household at Marlette, Sanilac County, Michigan, on 28 April 1910. Also living in the household were his wife, Hattie Ellis (given age 46), his step daughters, Elma Kidney (given age 19) and Zoa Kidney (given age 17), his sister-in-law, Louis E. Boysen (given age 37), his nephew, Jack B. Boysen (given age 6) . Clarence was employed as a minister and preacher.⁶
     At age 72, Rev. Clarence L. Ellis married third Florence A. Ogle, daughter of William Stiles and Patience Cull, on Saturday, 26 April 1924 at Lapeer, Lapeer County, Michigan.¹
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Clarence L. Ellis (given age 78), the head of household Marlette, Sanilac County, Michigan, on 12 April 1930. Also living in the household was his wife, Florence Ellis (given age 72). Clarence was a retired clergyman (Methodist Protestant).⁷
     Clarence L. died on 8 August 1934 at age 82.⁸ He was buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, located at Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.⁸

     Her husband, Charles, died of Charles was employed as a Minister of Gospel on 28 September 1912 Ross Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, at age 47, leaving Clara Grace as a widow.⁶
