     At age 25, Florence Allen married James L. Knox, age 25, son of William H. Knox and Ida O. Spencer, on Thursday, 9 January 1913 at Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan.⁴ Florence E. Knox (given age 32) was listed as the daughter of John H. Allen (given age 72) on the 1920 Census recorded 13 January 1920 Seneca Township, Lenawee County, Michigan.⁵ Florence E. Knox (given age 42) was listed as the wife of Leon J. Knox (given age 42) on the 1930 Census recorded 8 April 1930 at 126 Congress Street, Morenci, Lenawee County, Michigan.⁶
     Her husband, James, died in March 1965 at age 77, leaving Florence as a widow.¹
     Florence died in March 1979 at age 91.¹

     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Leon J. Knox (given age 42), the head of household at 126 Congress Street, Morenci, Lenawee County, Michigan, on 8 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Florence E. Knox (given age 42), his daughters, Blanche Knox (given age 15), Ida B. Knox (given age 13) and Sarah A. Knox (given age 10) . Leon was employed as an automobile salesman.⁶
