     Elmer Chappell Flint was born on Saturday, 6 October 1883 at Michigan.1 He was listed as the son of Charles L. Flint (given age 39) on the 1900 Census recorded 8 June 1900 at 1719 Gary Avenue, East St. Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois.2
     At age 24, Elmer Chappell Flint married Gertrude League, daughter of Thomas H. League and Jennie (?), on Saturday, 20 June 1908 at Festus, Jefferson County, Missouri.3
     The 1910 US Census enumerated him as E. C. Flint (given age 27), the head of household at 2043 E. Street, Granite, Madison County, Illinois, on 15 April 1910. Also living in the household was his wife, Gertrude Flint (given age 25). E. was employed as a druggist at a drug store.4 He provided information for the death certificate of Mary Jane Flint on Sunday, 19 November 1911 at Perry Township, St. Francois County, Missouri.5
     At the time of death of his mother in 1911, Elmer resided at 1855 Russell Avenue at St. Louis, Missouri.5
     Elmer Chappell Flint (given age 35) registered for the World War I civilian draft on 6 September 1918, while residing at 1429 East Superior Street, Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Gertrude Flint was named as his nearest relative. Elmer was employed as a travelling salesman by Eli Lilly & Co. of Indianapolis, Indiana.1
     The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Elmer C. Flint (given age 36), the head of household at 1401 Temple Place, St. Louis, Missouri, on 6 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Gertrude H. Flint (given age 35), his daughter, Mary Virginia Flint (given age 9), his brother-in-law, Dubart T. D. League (given age 25), his father-in-law, Thomas H. League (given age 70), his mother-in-law, Jennie League (given age 66) . Elmer was employed as a manager at a pharmaceutical company.6
     Elmer Chappell died on 8 December 1950 at Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, at age 67 leaving Gertrude as a widow.5
