     At age 24, Mary Rebecca Flanders married Ralph Eldridge Sherman, age 26, son of Eldridge Sherman and Catherine Elizabeth Earl, on Wednesday, 1 August 1917 Seneca County, Ohio.1 Mary Sherman (given age 27) was listed as the wife of Ralph E. Sherman (given age 29) on the 1920 Census recorded 13 January 1920 at Clinton Township, Seneca County, Ohio.3 Mary Sherman (given age 37) was listed as the wife of Ralph E. Sherman (given age 39) on the 1930 Census recorded 22 April 1930 at Township Line Road, Clinton Township, Seneca County, Ohio.4
     Her husband, Ralph, died on 25 May 1966 in the Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, located at Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, at age 75, leaving Mary Rebecca as a widow.2,5,6
     Mary Rebecca died on 23 June 1978 at age 85.2 She was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, located at Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio.2

     Elihu Sherman Sr. was born on Sunday, 10 January 1745 at Dartmouth, Bristol County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, British America, (now Massachusetts), son of Jabez and Jedidah.1
     At age 21, Elihu Sherman Sr. married Elizabeth Claghorn, age 20 on Thursday, 23 October 1766 Dartmouth, Bristol County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.1
     Elihu died on 1 April 1817 at Williamstown, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, at age 72. The gravestone said he died in his 73rd year.1
