     John Bigelow and Thomas Sawyer and Elias Sawyer were surprised by the Indians, made prisoners and taken captive to Canada on 5 October 1705. In a token of his gratitude on his release from captivity, he called his daughter, born after his return, Comfort, and a second daughter Freedom.2
     John died on 8 September 1769 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, British America, (now Massachusetts), at age 94.1,2

     The 1920 US Census enumerated him as Edward VanValkenberg (given age 50), the head of household at Race Street, Clyde, Sandusky County, Ohio, on 6 January 1920. Also living in the household were his wife, Bessie VanValkenberg (given age 41), his mother-in-law, Addie Dimm (given age 76) . Edward was employed as a Riveter in a Motor Truck Factory.3
     Edward H. VanValkenberg lived in 1923 at Clyde, Sandusky County, Ohio.
     The 1930 US Census enumerated him as Eddie B. VanVolkenburg (given age 60), the head of household at Ridge Road, Green Creek Township, Sandusky County, Ohio, on 19 April 1930. Also living in the household were his wife, Bessie VanVolkenburg (given age 51) . Eddie was a Farmer on a Truck Farm.4
     Edward H. VanValkenberg was a an Airplane Designer on 6 April 1931 in the Fremont Daily Messenger, published at Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio.5
     Edward H. died in March 1971 at age 103.6

Seward (given age 4) was listed as a household member living with Augustus Seward (given age 30) on the 1850 Census on 14 August 1850 at Wawayanda, Orange County, New York.2 B. Jennings Seward (given age 13) was listed as a household member living with Augustus Seward (given age 40) on the 1860 Census on 15 June 1860 at Wallkill, Orange County, New York.3
     Dr. Benjamin Jennings Seward married Caroline Waggoner, daughter of Clark Waggoner and Sylvia B. Roberts, in 1868 at Manhattan, New York County, New York.4
     The 1870 US Census enumerated him as B. J. Seward (given age 24), the head of household at Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio, on 25 July 1870. Carrie Seward (given age 24) and Augustus Seward (given age 5 months) were listed as household members. B. was employed as a Physician.5
     The 1880 US Census enumerated him as Benj. J. Seward (given age 35), the head of household at Red Bank, Monmouth County, New Jersey, on 8 June 1880. Also living in the household were his wife, Carrie Seward (given age 35), his daughter, Fannie Seward (given age 8) , a servant, Vina Davenport (given age 28). Augustus Seward (given age 60) was listed as his neighbor. Benj. was employed as a Physician.6,7
     Benjamin Seward (given age 30-60) was listed living alone on the 1895 Census at South Amboy, Middlesex County, New Jersey.8 He was listed as the step son of Cornelia F. Seward (given age 78) on the 1900 Census recorded 25 June 1900 at Landis Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey. He was a retired physician.9
     The 1910 US Census enumerated him as Benjamin J. Seward (given age 65), the head of household at East Avenue, Landis Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey, on 4 May 1910, living alone.10
     Benjamin Jennings died on 27 May 1910 at age 64 leaving Caroline as a widow.1
